    THE PROBLEM

    Every department holds its data in its own CSV, Excel and SharePoint files and systems, and needs it turned into reports it can rely on. There was no shared standard for how the council builds BI.

    WHAT I DID

    Department files come into Fabric through an on-prem gateway; the government APIs connect to Fabric directly. I model the data, and with SQL Server, SSIS and SSMS I build ready views and tables other analysts reuse, plus the reports. I wrote the council Power BI standard and presented it to LIG on 26 Jun 2025.

    IMPACT

    The standard was approved and adopted council-wide. Every team's reports build to one template, ship faster, and stay trusted. Developers stop reinventing the basics.

    THE PROBLEM

    Mid-tier and flagship devices weren't winning trust. The evidence sat scattered across Jira, CarlCare and social queues, never pulled together. Tecno's PK share had fallen 28.6% to 12%.

    WHAT I DID

    On my own I classified 169K records into 13K prioritised issues and analysed a 47-question survey of 700+ owners. I designed and led KT4, and my validation became the final pre-launch sign-off.

    PRODUCT IMPACT

    Three flagships shipped my reforms: the Infinix Note 12 VIP, Tecno Camon 19 Pro and Infinix Zero 20. That covered NFC, the nav-choice screen, skin-tone camera tuning and debloat. GSMArena went from "chaotic" to "works smoothly".

    Tecno was named "Leading Consumer Brand of 2022" in Pakistan. My methodology became the mandatory pre-launch standard across 300+ devices in Africa and Indonesia, and the press criticism reversed.

    It started as a solo proof of concept, 169K records classified on my own. HQ then funded KT4, my validation became the final sign-off between research and design, and after the L13 promotion the methodology was made mandatory across Africa and Indonesia.

    At WASA, redesigned ETL pipelines, SQL Server views and its first Power BI ops dashboards. With Datavrex, free workshops that grew from in person to nationwide. For MCC, a 47-page guide and a recorded tutorial.

    I moved from Pakistan to the UK in October 2023 for one thing: cloud computing. Lincoln's MSc, together with the Microsoft certifications and data analytics route I built around it, was my bridge from software engineering into data engineering. I finished with a Distinction, five Microsoft certifications and a peer-reviewed chapter. The bet paid off.
